Construct the Biggest Court Complex in Sri Lanka - the "Adikarana Piyasa" at Hulftsdorp, Colombo
Under the Government policy framework of "Vistas of Prosperity" the Government plans to establish a new multistoried court complex, the "Adikarana Piyasa" in 06 acres of land adjacent to the Supreme Court complex at Hulftsdorp, Colombo. The new court complex will replace the old Dutch colonial era court buildings which are in dilapidated condition. The new "Adikarana Piyasa" will house 21 Magistrate courts, 10 High courts, 12 Commercial High courts as well as 18 District courts, 50 Official residences for Judges and court staff. The construction project with a total cost estimate of Rs. 21,000 million is planned be completed in four phases in 03 years.
Under the first phase, The Central Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd (CESL) has been awarded the contract for construction of the 16 storied main building housing 21 magistrate courts. The foundation stone laying ceremony of the new multistoried building complex "Adikarana Piyasa" was held on 25th of January 2021 under the distinguished patronage of Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister on the invitation of Hon. Mohamed Alisabri PC, Minister of Justice, and in the presence of several dignitaries and CESL Engineers.
